Cirò: the first DOCG of Calabria
From August 7 to 10, 2025, the traditional “Cirò Wine Festival” will take place, a wine event dedicated to Cirò which, this year, celebrates the achievement of DOCG status for Cirò Classico.
Thus ends a long period of waiting, fulfilling the dream of many Calabrian producers who, after years of commitment and dedication, can finally celebrate the achievement of this prestigious milestone.
Considering that this is the first Calabrian DOCG, it is clear that this represents a double source of pride for a region so rich in history and tradition in the Italian wine scene.
Thus, the celebrations begin, enlivened by events, meetings, and tastings that, each in their own way, express the pride of a territory that for centuries has contributed significantly to the wine history of our continent.
The event “Waiting for the Wine Night” will offer tastings of wines from the Cirò and Melissa DOC Consortium wineries according to the following program and venues:
August 7 – Borgo Saverona
August 8 – Senatore Vini
August 9 – Baroni Capoano (with the talk “New challenges for Cirò”)
On August 10, the event will end in style with the “Music & Wine Night” at Loc. Madonna di Mare Cirò Marina.
